Advisor profiles use many different labels, and the same word can mean different things to different practitioners. Treat a label as a starting point for a conversation about the service, rather than a standardized credential or a guarantee.

Tarot readings: ask how the cards are used

Tarot readers interpret cards and their relationships within a spread. Some emphasize symbolism and reflection; others describe an intuitive or predictive approach. If seeing the cards matters to you, ask whether the chosen format allows it. A tarot reading does not have to follow one delivery style, so read the advisor’s explanation rather than relying on the label alone.

Intuitive readings: clarify the approach

An advisor describing themselves as intuitive may use no physical tools or may combine impressions with cards or another method. Ask what the session involves and whether they prefer a focused question or an open conversation. Terms such as clairvoyant or empathic describe the practitioner’s claimed approach; they are not, by themselves, independent evidence of accuracy.

Medium readings: understand the intended purpose

A practitioner advertising mediumship generally describes their service as attempting communication with people who have died. Ask about the format and any expectations before booking. Do not assume that a particular person will be contacted or that a specific message is guaranteed. You can pause or decline a session if the discussion does not feel right for you.

Astrology and other methods

Astrology services generally involve interpreting a chart, while other listings may mention numerology, runes or pendulums. Ask what information is needed, what will be delivered and how long it takes. Only provide details you are comfortable sharing after checking the service and its privacy practices. A tool’s long history does not establish the accuracy of a particular reading.

Choose the explanation, not just the title

A useful profile should help you understand the actual service, its limits and the advisor’s communication style. If you cannot tell what you are buying, ask for clarification before paying. Methods can overlap, and a practitioner may use several. What matters for your choice is whether the offered session matches your expectations.

TAKE THIS WITH YOU

Ask “What will this session involve?” Labels are useful for browsing, but a clear description tells you much more about the reading you are considering.
